Tamil Nadu Common Admissions 2011 TANCA 2011 Notification for M.E/M.Tech/M.Arch/M.Plan Degree Programmes released by Anna University Chennai.
Tamil Nadu Common Admissions (TANCA) 2011 is administered by Anna University, Chennai.
Applications are invited for admissions to M.E/M.Tech/M.Arch/M.Plan Degree Programmes offered in the affiliated Universities,Colleges of Anna University Chennai.

Commencement of issue of application form : 11.07.2011
Last date for issue of application form :  23.07.2011
Last date for submission of filled-in application : 30.07.2011
Application Forms:
Candidates should submit separate application for each category as given below.
1.  GATE Category  
a.  GATE A (Engineering / Technology) category: Candidates who have a valid GATE score with qualifying marks for assistantship in the appropriate discipline of Engineering / Technology.
b.  GATE B (Engineering Science (XE) / Life Science (XL) category: Candidates who have a valid GATE score with qualifying marks for assistantship in Engineering Science (XE) and Life Science (XL) papers.   Candidates should have also appeared for TANCET 2011.
2.  Non-GATE category: (TANCET 2011 score only)  
3.  Sponsored category:  (with TANCET 2011 score) only for University Departments of  Anna University, Chennai-25.
Eligibility:
Candidates who have passed all the subjects in the recognised qualifying degree with a minimum of 50 % marks for General category and 45 % marks for reserved categories, BC / BCM / MBC & DNC / SC / SCA / ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu, in the qualifying examination
i. with TANCET 2011 score  (or)
ii. with valid GATE score and qualifying marks prescribed for assistantship in the appropriate discipline of Engineering / Technology (or)
iii. with valid GATE score and qualifying marks prescribed for assistantship in Engineering Science (XE) and Life Science (XL) papers along with TANCET 2011 score shall be considered for admission to M.E./M.Tech./M.Arch./M.Plan. degree programmes.
The details of eligibility criteria for admission to M.E. / M.Tech. / M.Arch./ M.Plan. degree programmes are available in the ‘Information and Instructions to Candidates’ Booklet and also in Anna University website.
Reservation for Differently Abled candidates are available as per the Government norms under GATE / NON-GATE categories.
Availability of Application Forms:
IN PERSON: Application form can be obtained IN PERSON by Cash / Demand Draft for Rs. 500/- for General (Rs. 250/- for SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu on production of a copy of Permanent Community Certificate card) towards registration fee at the following Institutions:

BY POST: Application form can also be obtained by post by sending a Demand Draft for Rs. 600/- for general (Rs. 350/- for SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu by enclosing a copy of Permanent Community Certificate card), (includes postal charges) along with a requisition letter and an address slip written in capital letters from the Secretary, TANCA, Anna university, Chennai – 600 025.
REGISTRATION THROUGH INTERNET: The application form, information and instructions to candidates are available in the website  http://www.annauniv.edu/tanca2011/.  The print out application and registration fee for Rs. 500/- for General (Rs.250/- for SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu by enclosing a copy of Permanent Community Card) in the form of a Demand Draft drawn in favour of  “The Secretary, Tamil Nadu Common Admissions, Anna University, Chennai” payable at Chennai drawn on or after 10.7.2011, should be sent along with all the enclosures, through registered post / speed post to The Secretary, Tamil Nadu Common Admissions, Anna University, Chennai 600 025, to reach on or before  30.7.2011 (5.30 p.m.).
The completed application should reach ‘The Secretary, TANCA, Anna University, Chennai 600 025’ on or before 30.07.2011, by 5.30 p.m.  Applications received after the due date and time will not be considered at any cost.
