14th batch of pilgrims leave for Amarnath

Braving heavy rain and bad weather, a batch of 2,521 pilgrims on Thursday left the Jammu base camp for the 13,500-feet high cave shrine of Amarnath in south Kashmir Himalayas.
Escorted by the CRPF jawans, the pilgrims, including 595 women and 58 children, left in a cavalcade of 88 vehicles from Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu at around 5 a.m. for Amarnath, police said.
With this, 48,358 pilgrims have left Jammu in 15 batches for their onward journey to the cave shrine.
